چکیده
Computational Physics Numerical modeling represents an important tool to fulfil the objectives of the group and two domains of application are presently covered: Calculation of radiation fields and Modelling of cold plasmas for material processing. Along with these applications, the group is also involved in improving the available computational capacity with the build up of a Beowulf cluster for parallel computation. This cluster will be used to Monte Carlo simulations, application of genetic algorithms and fluid dynamics.

Economic Sanctions on Iran and Nuclear Medicine
"It is not a wise choice!", this was the reaction of my father when I applied for nuclear medicine residency program 26 years ago. The old retired officer continued that hi-tech nuclear medicine is dependent on multiple advanced sections that may not be easily available especially in the developing countries. Now he is not alive to see that political misconducts have added fuel to the fire. Glo...

In 1955, the first nuclear medicine division was established in Thailand by Professor Romsai Suwannik in the Department of Radiology, Siriraj Hospil, Mahidol University in Bangkok. In 1959 four years later, the second nuclear medicine division was established in the Department of Radiology, Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok. The third nuclear medicine division was started in Rajvithi Hospital i...
متن کاملMeasurement of 137Cs in soils of Tehran province
Background: An amount of artificial radionuclide has been released into the environment as fallout, resulting from atmospheric nuclear weapon tests, nuclear accidents such as Chernobyl and together with air currents have polluted the world. Materials and Methods: 37 surface soil samples of Tehran province were collected in the period between June and September 2008, by implementing met...
متن کاملBEAMS Lab at MIT: Status report.
The Biological Engineering Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (BEAMS) Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is a facility dedicated to incorporating AMS into life sciences research. As such, it is focused exclusively on radiocarbon and tritium AMS and makes use of a particularly compact instrument of a size compatible with most laboratory space. Recent developments at the BEAMS Lab were a...
متن کاملPhoton-Counting H33D Detector for Biological Fluorescence Imaging.
We have developed a photon-counting High-temporal and High-spatial resolution, High-throughput 3-Dimensional detector (H33D) for biological imaging of fluorescent samples. The design is based on a 25 mm diameter S20 photocathode followed by a 3-microchannel plate stack, and a cross delay line anode. We describe the bench performance of the H33D detector, as well as preliminary imaging results o...
متن کاملAn investigation on the performance of dose calibrators in nuclear medicine centers in Iran
Background: To investigate the status of the nuclear medicine (NM) centers in Iran for the performance of dose calibrators, 18 out of 54 centers providing NM services in Iran were randomly selected and inspected in 1997. In the first phase of the study the selected centers were inspected for performing of quality control (QC) tests of dose calibrators. The linearity of the activity res...
